What are the Different Kinds of Jeans

Over the years there has been a great variety in the kinds of jeans that have been in fashion. It seems like yesterday when so many of us were dying for a pair of bell bottoms. Now Skinny jeans are all the rage. Even so, there are still many different kinds of jeans that people go for. Because it’s not so much about the fashion trend as it is about the comfort. That’s not really surprising since jeans have always been associated with comfort! Anyhow, here are the different kinds of jeans that people wear:

Low Rise Jeans

Low rise jeans are buttoned just below the waist. They give the illusion of a sleek waist and are really trendy nowadays. They aren’t exactly the most comfortable jeans there are, but they look amazing.

High Rise Jeans

High rise jeans are the opposite of low rise jeans, as the name suggests. They cover the entire waist and start at your diaphragm. Even though they are considered outdated my most people, you can wear them with the shirt tucked in and loosened from the tucked end. This way, no one sees the waistline on your jeans and you make quite the fashion statement.

Flare Jeans

Flare jeans are tightened from the thigh area up to the knee. They then flare out and remain loose beneath the knee till the ankles (hence the name flare jeans). These were very trendy in the 70s and 80s. Another type of flare jeans were bell bottoms. Bell bottoms are so called because they start tight like flare jeans, then flare into a wide-open bell shape around the ankles.

Capris are still very trendy today. They end just below the knee or sometimes a few inches above the ankles. They are perfect for flaunting a pretty little anklet or a tattoo you got recently in the area. They even look amazing in a beachy look. Capris are a personal favorite for me!

Boot-cut Jeans

Boot-cut jeans are also an old-timey beloved trend. Like flare jeans, they too are tight around the thighs and then loosen up just a tad from the knees till the ankles. They are so called because of their ability to fit snugly over leather boots.

Skinny Jeans

Skinny jeans are the trendiest jeans these days. Since they are in fashion, they look good on anything and a perfect casual statement. They fit snugly or tightly around your thighs and your shins. They range from normally skinny to super-skinny. Skinny jeans are a must have for both men and women.

Ripped Jeans

Ripped jeans are a personal favorite here. They are also great for casual wear especially if you are planning to party. Currently, the most fashionable type of ripped jeans is those that come paired with skinny jeans.

Faded Jeans

Faded jeans are any pair of jeans that have a faded center. They are able to highlight your thighs better and make your legs look more shapely.
